Florida Restaurants Skimped-Out on Employee Wages

Two Florida restaurants failed to pay its employees during the COVID-19 pandemic and now owe them $115,000 in compensation.

On Tuesday, two Palm Beach wing restaurants had to pay $115,000 in COVID-19 Work stoppage-related compensation to the employees it failed to pay during the coronavirus business shutdown.

The U.S. Department of Labor Labor reported that the operators of two chicken wing restaurants based in Palm Beach failed to pay staff members during the temporary lock-down amid the coronavirus outbreak.

The Director of the Miami Wage and Hour Division stated that business owners must pay staff members any wages owed during the temporary COVID-19 work stoppage.

The U.S. Department of Labor stated that the wing restaurants settled with staff members and has paid $115,966 to 160 employees, which is estimated at $725 each.
