Three Injured After Unattended SUV Reverses Into Them in North Miami

NORTH MIAMI, FLA.  – Three individuals, including two children and an adult, were rushed to the hospital on Tuesday night after an unattended SUV reversed and hit them, according to the police report.

The incident took place on Northeast Sixth Avenue, between 123rd and 124th streets in North Miami, and the SUV could be seen on the sidewalk surrounded by crime scene tape.

As of 10 p.m., the intersection remained closed, as the investigation continued, but the SUV was seen being towed away.

According to North Miami Police detective Richard Torres, “The SUV was parked in front of the business. As the driver went inside the business, for unknown reasons, the SUV rolled backward, and it struck an adult and two juveniles. As of right now, nobody’s been charged.”

At least one of the victims was airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital. Although the situation was serious, the victims are all said to be in stable condition, according to police.

North Miami Police and Miami-Dade Fire Rescue units were dispatched to the scene after the incident occurred just after 7 p.m. Police have not yet identified the person responsible for leaving the SUV unattended.

The victims now appear to be in stable condition, and police continue to investigate the incident.
