Small Plane Crashes in Miami-Dade
In South Miami-Dade, a plane crashed but fortunately, there were no serious injuries reported. The individuals aboard the aircraft were fortunate to survive as the plane flipped over and landed upside down in the Everglades.
First responders from the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue team were sent to the location where the single-engine Cessna 172 crashed, which was approximately 12 miles southwest of Miami Kendall Executive Airport. This occurred on Tuesday afternoon at around 5 PM.
A helicopter from 7Skyforce observed the wreckage from above and two individuals were seen standing on the plane’s wings. Additionally, both a Miami-Dade Police helicopter and an Air Rescue helicopter arrived at the scene.
Next, the two individuals were lifted safely by a Miami-Dade Fire Rescue helicopter. They were then taken to Miami Kendall Executive Airport, where the plane originated from.
During the incident, the men onboard the aircraft utilized a cell phone to communicate with authorities and shared their GPS location for rescue purposes.
The cause of the plane crash is currently under investigation, and authorities have not released any information about the identities of the two individuals onboard. However, it is fortunate that they were able to survive such a harrowing experience.
The quick response from the first responders, including the Miami-Dade Fire Rescue team and the Air Rescue and Police helicopters, played a crucial role in ensuring the safety of the two individuals.
