Fatal Head-On Crash in Lauderhill

BROWARD COUNTY: In Lauderhill, a tragic accident occurred involving a wrong-way driver, resulting in the death of a man and the hospitalization of a mother and her two children. The incident took place on Mother’s Day near the intersection of Northwest 36th Avenue and West Broward Boulevard at approximately 5:45 p.m.

Upon receiving the report, Lauderhill Police and Fire Rescue units promptly arrived at the scene. According to investigators, a GMC SUV was traveling in the wrong direction on the southbound lanes of Northwest 36th Avenue and attempted to cross Broward Boulevard when it collided with a black Mustang convertible.

The collision caused the SUV to overturn, and sadly, the passenger in the GMC was ejected from the vehicle. Paramedics rushed the passenger to Broward Health Medical Center, but unfortunately, he did not survive his injuries.

The Mustang contained a mother and her two children, aged 1 and 4 years old. All three occupants were transported to BHMC by paramedics. The mother is currently in serious condition, while the children are expected to recover.

The driver of the GMC sustained minor injuries and was also taken to the hospital. As of Sunday night, the identities of the individuals involved in the crash have not been disclosed by the police.
