Fatal Motorcycle and Jaguar Accident in SW Miami-Dade Leads to Road Closure
Fatal Crash Involving Jaguar and Motorcycle in Southwest Miami-Dade Under Investigation by FHP.
Sections of Kendall Drive Temporarily Shut Down Following the Accident
MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, Fla. – An inquiry is underway into a collision that resulted in the death of an individual in the southwestern part of Miami-Dade on Thursday afternoon, as per the Florida Highway Patrol.
The incident occurred at approximately 11:30 a.m. close to the intersection of Southwest 158th Avenue and Southwest 162nd Avenue within the Hammocks district of southwest Miami-Dade. According to the FHP, a motorcyclist was heading west on Kendall Drive, nearing Southwest 158th Avenue when a driver operating a Jaguar struck the motorcyclist. Authorities explained that the Jaguar driver was endeavoring to make a left turn onto the westbound lanes of Kendall Drive and inadvertently crossed the path of the oncoming motorcycle, resulting in a collision.
Tragically, the motorcyclist was thrown from the motorcycle and succumbed to the injuries at the accident scene, the FHP reported. During the investigative process, the stretch of Kendall Drive situated between Southwest 157th Avenue and Southwest 162nd Avenue was shut down; however, it has since been reopened. At around 11:45 a.m., aerial footage f the location revealed a motorcycle lying on its side on the road, with debris scattered in the vicinity. As of now, the identity of the deceased victim from the crash has not been disclosed by the authorities.
