Car with baby inside plunges into swimming pool

Sunrise, Florida: A driver lost control of their vehicle, causing it to plunge into a pool with a baby inside, but fortunately, no one was hurt. The incident occurred on Thursday morning at 79187 NW 22nd St. in Sunrise. Upon arriving at the scene, Sunrise Police and fire rescue found the car teetering on the edge of the swimming pool in the backyard. The vehicle contained a woman, her husband, and their baby, all of whom emerged unscathed. The driver, Ronise Jean Baptiste, stated that she didn’t know what happened and lost control of the car when turning a corner on Northwest 22nd Street, resulting in the vehicle hitting a trailer and driving into the backyard. Home surveillance footage captured the car crashing into the pool, destroying a fence, a gazebo, and a childproof pool barrier. Malena Sobrino, who lives in the home, rushed to the sliding glass door upon hearing the crash and found the car in her pool patio. She was relieved to see everyone was okay and was grateful that her 2-year-old son had moved inside before the accident. The homeowner will address the damage with her insurance.
