Two workers were hospitalized following a crane collapse in Northwest Broward. Emergency responders from Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue and Broward Sheriff’s Office rushed to the scene located in the Holey Land Wildlife Management Area, approximately 15 miles west of US-27 along the Broward/Palm Beach county line, on Tuesday morning.
Aerial footage provided by a local news team depicted several rescue vehicles converging on the site, with the crane lying on its side on the ground.
According to authorities, the two individuals were conducting maintenance work above high-tension power lines when the bucket-truck they were operating tipped over. They plummeted from a height of 100 feet, sustaining severe injuries, and were subsequently airlifted by Palm Beach Trauma Hawk choppers to Broward Health North for medical attention. One of the workers was observed with a bandage on his arm, although the extent of their injuries remains unclear. Efforts were made to upright the crane, which was then towed away from the remote area in Northwest Broward.
No additional injuries were reported in the incident.
