In what can only be described as a nightmare on two wheels, Ariel Barias is speaking out after a shocking hit-and-run incident in North Miami left him bruised, bloodied, and pleading for justice.
It happened last Wednesday evening near the intersection of Northwest 125th Street and Seventh Avenue. Barias was cycling home—his routine ride cut short in an instant. According to him, a driver turning at the intersection failed to see him and mowed him down, dragging him across the pavement before speeding off without a second thought.
“I was just trying to make it home. I saw the car and tried to swerve, but next thing I know—I’m under it, and they just kept going,” Barias told a local news team, his face visibly scraped from forehead to lip.
Surveillance footage shows the horrifying moment the vehicle struck Barias. He appears to swerve into view, trying to avoid the collision, but it’s too late—the car plows into him and continues driving, never stopping, never slowing down.
“You can clearly see me in the video. I tried to avoid them. I got in their line of sight. But they didn’t even hit the brakes.”
