Teen Driver Causes Head-On Collision
A serious head-on collision in Deerfield Beach resulted in three people being hospitalized, including one in critical condition. The accident occurred on Friday night along the 4100 block of Southwest Tenth Street, prompting a response from Broward Sheriff’s Office and Broward Sheriff Fire Rescue.
According to authorities, a 17-year-old driving a 2020 Toyota Corolla lost control of the vehicle around 9 p.m. near Waterways Boulevard while heading eastbound. The car crossed over the median and entered the westbound lanes, where it crashed head-on into a 2008 Ford Fusion.
Emergency rescue units transported the teen driver, the Ford’s driver, and a passenger from one of the vehicles to Broward Health North. The Ford’s driver sustained critical injuries. The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
