Hit-and-Run Incident in Miramar: Police Hunt for Driver as Pedestrian Fatally Struck on US-27 near Krome Avenue
Miramar Police are actively seeking a hit-and-run driver following the tragic discovery of a pedestrian’s body on the road. This has prompted closures on US-27 as law enforcement conducts a thorough investigation. At approximately 8:30 a.m. on Tuesday, live video footage depicted congested traffic on the northbound lanes of US-27, situated about half a mile north of Krome Avenue. Authorities swiftly shut down the road to facilitate their investigative efforts. Law enforcement officers discovered a pedestrian at the scene who was tragically pronounced dead. Officials have verified that the victim was indeed struck by a vehicle. Notably, there were no witnesses to the crash, complicating the investigation for authorities. In light of the ongoing police investigation, all northbound lanes of US-27 remain inaccessible. Traffic heading from northbound US-27 is being redirected onto the southbound lanes of Krome Avenue.
