Red Light Accidents: Know Your Rights

THE MIAMI CAR ACCIDENT LAWYERS AT THE PERAZZO LAW FIRM LOOK AT THE DANGERS OF RUNNING LIGHTS

Running red light accidents can be a serious problem and can result in significant injuries or even fatalities. If you have been involved in an accident in Miami where another driver blew a red light, it may be a good idea to consult with a car accident lawyer to discuss your legal options.

Liability for blowing red lights at night will depend on the specific circumstances of the accident. In general, the driver who runs the red light will be considered at fault for the accident. However, there may be situations where other factors come into play, such as poor visibility due to inadequate lighting or obstructions that hinder a driver’s ability to see the red light.

In some cases, the presence of “no left turn” signs may be a factor in red light accidents. If a driver ignores a “no left turn” sign and causes an accident by running a red light while attempting to make a left turn, they may be held liable for the accident.

If you have been involved in a red light accident in Miami, it is important to gather as much evidence as possible, including photos of the accident scene, witness statements, and any police reports or citations issued at the time of the accident. A car accident lawyer can help you navigate the legal process and work to ensure that you receive the compensation you deserve for your injuries and damages.

If you have been involved in a car accident in Miami or the surrounding South Florida area due to the negligence of a driver who blew a red light, it can be an extremely stressful and traumatic experience. You may be dealing with serious injuries, medical bills, lost wages, and other damages that have a significant impact on your life.

That’s where a Miami car accident lawyer can help. A skilled attorney who specializes in car accident cases can guide you through the legal process, explain your rights, and work to ensure that you receive the compensation you deserve for your injuries and damages.

In red light accidents, the driver who runs the red light is typically considered at fault for the accident. This is because red lights are a clear and well-known traffic signal that must be obeyed by all drivers. When a driver ignores a red light and causes an accident, they have demonstrated a clear disregard for the safety of others on the road.

If you have been injured in a red light accident, you may be entitled to compensation for medical expenses, lost wages, pain and suffering, and other damages. A car accident lawyer can help you determine the full extent of your damages and work to negotiate a fair settlement with the insurance company or file a lawsuit if necessary.

Traffic Collision in Miami Gardens Results in Injuries, Including Police Officer

In the early hours of Tuesday morning, a traffic collision occurred in Miami Gardens, Florida, leading to multiple hospitalizations, including a Miami Gardens police officer. The incident prompted the closure of the Palmetto Expressway ramps.

Event Overview: The incident transpired around 2:45 a.m. along Northwest 27th Avenue and Northwest 167th Street. Miami-Dade police officers were quick to respond, securing the exit and entrance ramps of the Palmetto Expressway.

Injuries and Hospitalizations: Video footage captured the aftermath, showing a Miami Gardens squad car positioned on the slope barrier wall of the Palmetto Expressway with front-end damage. Another black vehicle involved in the collision sustained extensive exterior damage.

Four individuals, including a police officer, were transported to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s Ryder Trauma Center. Three of them, including the police officer, required airlift transport. While the officer and one airlifted individual are expected to recover, the remaining victim is currently in critical condition.

Preliminary Investigations: According to preliminary investigations by Miami Gardens Police, the police officer patrolling southbound on Northwest 27th Avenue was struck by a black Charger traveling westbound on Northwest 167th Avenue. The Charger allegedly ran a red light, resulting in the collision.

Miami Gardens Police officer Diana Delgado provided insights, stating, “At the moment, we don’t know if the vehicle was traveling at a high rate of speed. We just know he rammed the vehicle and struck our officer.”

Community Caution: Officer Delgado urged caution from the community, emphasizing the importance of adhering to traffic signals. She said, “The secondary vehicle ran the red light, so we ask the community to please just be visible when they’re driving. Pay attention, as they’re driving, to all of the traffic signals so that something like this won’t happen again.”

Ongoing Investigation: The investigation into the circumstances leading up to the crash is currently ongoing. Authorities are working to gather more information to determine the full details of the incident.
