Multi-Vehicle Rollover Crash in Miami
Two individuals were arrested following a police chase that ended in a chain-reaction rollover crash in Miami, leading to the closure of Biscayne Boulevard for hours. Miami Police reported that a man and a woman, involved in a reported shooting, were pursued in a high-speed chase that concluded with a crash, causing the busy Biscayne Boulevard to be closed during rush hour on Wednesday afternoon.
The Tactical Robbery unit of Miami Police identified the suspect vehicle, a white Audi SUV, driving on Biscayne Boulevard. Detectives believe this vehicle was linked to a previous shooting in Palm Beach County. Police initially attempted to stop the vehicle at 79th Street and Biscayne Boulevard, but the Audi collided with another car and sped away. After three blocks, it crashed at the intersection of 82nd Street.
“We tried the PIT maneuver again, and it crashed into one of our vehicles, causing a chain reaction involving five vehicles,” said a Miami Police officer. Witnesses reported hearing a loud crash and seeing the aftermath, describing a significant police presence and a man jumping out of a car. Another witness recounted hearing the crash while talking to a customer and seeing a flipped car surrounded by police.
The Audi came to a spinning stop, and an undercover police car, a black sedan, ended up on its side. The two suspects were taken into custody shortly after. They are wanted in connection with the Palm Beach County shooting. Bystanders captured cellphone videos of officers apprehending the suspects, including the moment the passenger jumped out of the window as officers surrounded the vehicle with guns drawn. A nearby shop worker said he ran to the back of the store upon hearing the crash.
Biscayne Boulevard was closed between 79th and 82nd streets for over three hours, causing significant traffic delays. The road reopened just before 5:30 p.m. Miami Fire Rescue responded but did not transport any officers. No one was seriously injured, and the involved vehicles have since been towed away. Five people were wounded in a 3-automobile collision in Miami
MIAMI – A multi-vehicle smash-up on a crowded Miami avenue led to five individuals being admitted to the hospital. Passersby promptly darted to aid those ensnared inside their autos. The mishap transpired on Southwest 8th Street around 7:30 p.m. on Monday.
Miami Police indicated that three vehicles participated in the mishap. Given the frenzied situation, witnesses scurried to assist the car accident victims before emergency crews arrived. An onlooker succeeded in liberating a woman from a severely dented car.
Emergency personnel, upon entering the locale, extracted several injured individuals from their autos and positioned them on gurneys. According to police statements, three of the hurt suffered grave injuries and were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital’s trauma ward. Two others were whisked to the emergency section.
