An SUV forcefully collided with a house in Miramar, causing no injuries. Residents in the vicinity express that such accidents are unfortunately frequent in this neighborhood.
Responding to the crash along the 2800 block of Southwest 66th Terrace just before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, Miramar Police and Fire Rescue units arrived at the scene.
Aerial footage revealed a white SUV crashed into the front of the home, having veered off the roadway, traversed through a grassy area, and struck the house.
Following the crash, the driver exited the vehicle. Thankfully, no one was at home during the incident, and there were no reported injuries. Area residents lament that such crashes are a common occurrence.
George Ellis, a resident living nearby, recounted witnessing the SUV speeding past the house.
The homeowner returned later in the day to find debris scattered throughout the living room, with a cement block hanging from the front.
News cameras documented the family boarding up the front of their home, while officials deemed the house unsafe and launched an investigation into the crash.
Despite attempts to contact the homeowner for comment, they declined to speak on camera. Eventually, a tow truck removed the SUV from the house.
